The News reports that Imran was beaten at the orders of Jamat Islami's high commands. Jamat leaders were angry at Imran Khan for publicly criticizing Maulana Fazulr Rehman, head of JUP, a coalition partner of religious alliance called MMA.
It is strange to note that JI information was present at the scene, but he did intervene to stop students from beating Imran Khan.Imran Khan's party members told reporters that IJT's action showed that they had links with the government.

Pakistan snubbed at the Common Wealth demand to lift emergency saying these demands were made without assessing the ground realities.
The Commonwealth had given Pakistan a 10-day deadline to lift emergency , release all political prisoners and lift curbs on the media.
Pakistan’s stance indicates that they are not realizing the implications of their behavior. It could face international isolation and suspension of military aid.
Pakistan’s membership was restored in 2004 when they pledged that Musharraf will relinquish the post of army chief. If the government of Pakistan does not honour their pledges this could made commonwealth members angry and get into trouble because we dependent on foreign charity for our survival.

Pakistan Army has assumed the charge of operation in Swat. Now I expect from the army to go after the militants without political constraints. These people have committed crimes and have been involved in anti-state activities. They deserve no mercy. They should be crushed at any cost. Otherwise it will embolden them.
I also expect that Pakistan Army will investigate and tell the nation who are behind these subversive activities. Who are funding them? From where are they getting arms and ammunition?

American backed opposition leader Ms. Bhutto has been placed under house arrest for 7 days.
Government officials said that she was detained because of security reasons. A senior police officer told media that they had received reports that Taliban commander Qazi Hussain had dispatched suicide bombers to kill her.
However, her party leaders said that she was detained so that she could not lead the mass rally. They told media people that she did not receive any detention order.
There are reports that people in Islamabad told the Punjab government to stop her from holding rallies in Punjab.
It looks that Punjab Chief minister was waiting for the opportunity to settle his score with her. She had accused Punjab chief minister many times that he was planning to kill her. Now he got the chance to grind her.
Let us see how the US and Britain save her from the clutches of the Punjab government. We have received reports that the US Principle Officer Brian D Hunt has met her.

Two points caught my attention during General Musharaf’s press conference.
First,
the tracking sweats on his face took me back to the day when he faced
parliamentarians on the only Joint-Session he ever attended three years
ago. If sweating denotes weakness of nerves, he qualified both the
times. After the first incidence, he refused to address them again
accusing the opposing lot as ‘bad-mannered’

People like Bolton and Richard Holbrooke , who served as U.S. ambassadors to the United Nations are frightening Americans by their statements about Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.
These two gentlemen are of the view that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal could fall into the hands of militants and threaten world peace.
Mr. Bolton made a startling claim that Pakistan Army had been infiltrated by militants and they could get their hands on these weapons if Musharraf was toppled.
There is no doubt we Pakistani are angry with the Pakistan Army because of their involvement in internal political affairs of the country. But we know that they are highly committed and professional soldiers and they know how to safeguard nation’s secret.
Western leaders talk about the situation in tribal belt. We Pakistanis know that extremists are funded by India, Afghanistan and many western intelligences agencies.
As far as Pakistan's nuclear arsenal are concerned they are in good hands and we do not need American assistance or share intelligence about their locations with US and western countries. We know they will misuse this information. We know that we are dependent upon US and western aid, but we are not stupids. We know what is happening around us and the people who are carrying out subversive activities in Pakistan.
Americans and Western countries talk about the proliferation activities
of Dr. Qadeer But they do not say anything about the US and European companies,
who have been selling nuclear parts to terrorists. The world knows that Halliburton supplied centrifuges to Iran , when Cheney was the head of that company.
Was Mr. Cheney and Halliburton prosecuted for this crime?

The General Musharraf told his corps commanders at the General HQ that emergency had been imposed in the best interest of the country.
He said that it would help him stabilize the political situation and eliminate militancy and extremism.
I urge the corps commanders to take their chief’s explanation with a pinch of salt.
His stupid action has caused damaged to Pakistan’s economy. It is reported that foreign investors have taken out 250$ from the Karachi Stock Exchange.
Can the megalomaniac general explain this?

General Musharraf has made an amendment in the Army Act of 1952, which will allow military courts to prosecute civilians.
The government did not offer an explanation why the general made this amendment.
In my opinion, General Musharraf made the amendment to terrorize the people of Pakistan. The General must know that his dictatorial behavior will bear resentment towards the Pakistan Army.
I urge the Pakistan Army to take notice of the dictatorial behavior of its chief. Otherwise Pakistan will disintegrate like Yugoslavia.
The Pakistan Army should try to improve its fighting capabilities. But it looks that their fighting capabilities are decaying. I hear that militants have taken hostage a major, a captain and five soldiers.
The general should pay attention to crisis like this instead of trying to think ways to repress his people.

Pakistan President was reported as saying that he would lift emergency in 15 days.
He made this promise to the US official before imposition of emergency in Pakistan. He explained to the US official that he wanted to avert the judicial crisis by imposition of emergency. This was disclosed by a diplomatic source who was present during the conversion.
This report clearly indicates that Muharraf has been corrupted by power and ambition. He threw the Pakistan nation into a political crisis for personal gains.
The Pakistan Army claims that it is best institution in Pakistan. But the way they are supporting the illegal and unconstitutional moves of their chief gives the impression that they have become inefficient and corrupt like other institution in Pakistan.

Pakistani government has detained former premier Benazir Bhutto in house. It looks that the government wants to disrupt her protest rally in Rawalpindi.
The Pakistan official said that she had been placed under house arrest because she failed to listen to their advise. They added that intelligence agencies had informed that suicide bombers would strike in Rawalpindi.
In my opinion, government had detained her to stop her from staging mass demonstrations against Musharraf. She had said that she would launch nationwide protests to pressurize Muharraf to lift emergency.

Media owners and journalists condemned the amendments to press laws. These amendments have been made to silence the press under the guise of emergency by the US backed military dictator.
Everyone is shocked at the silence of international community over the coercive measures taken by the government of General Musharraf to gag the press and media.
Tuesday, November 06, 2007
The restrictions imposed on media by the US backed dictator are highly condemnable.
According to reports, law enforcement agencies have received orders to detain journalists to stop their country wide protest. They have also received orders to confiscate OB vans of the TV channels.
I urge the government to lift curbs on the media and allow them to perform their duty.
Monday, November 05, 2007
Fearing a large-scale protest against his unconstitutional decision , the US backed Pakistani dictator launched a crack down across the country on opposition politicians , prominent lawyers and rights activists.
According to reports, law enforcement agencies have detained thousands of people.
In my opinion, this crack down will further aggravate the political situation in Pakistan. If the army does not stop its chief from carrying our repressive measures then it will create resentment towards the armed forces.
The Pakistan nation welcomed this dictator so he could do something for them. But this man and his cronies plundered the nation’s wealth in a very sophisticated way.

President Pervez Musharraf declared a state of emergency despite American opposition and threats. He suspended the constitution and removed the Chief Justice Iftiqar. He has appointed a new chief and high court justices of the provinces. It is shocking to know none of these justices opposed him and took oath under new PCO.
Critics are saying he has angered Americans and will face suspension of the billions of dollars of military and economic aid.
In my opinion, he imposed the American rule after consultation with the Bush Administration. Officially, Americans gave statements showing displeasure over his actions.
Americans were also unhappy with the Chief Justice Iftiqar because had released many high profile al-qaeda suspects. Recently he had ordered the government to release all the missing persons by November 13.
